The Super  Challenge is a fun day of activities in Science and Engineering.

Conducted at Deakin University’s Waurn Ponds campus in Geelong, it gives students a day of fun, teamwork and discovery.

HEN competed in the Challenge on Friday 7th May against six schools and won our heat. We then progressed to the state final Super Challenge to compete for the Victorian Plante on Wednesday 1st September where HEN came 6th.

The activities are aimed at year 9 & 10 students and the HEN team was made up of kids aged 9 to 16 with an average of 13. It was a fantastic effort to win our heat and progress to the state final. Well done team!

There were many positive comments on both days about our team – many of the organisers expressed their admiration for our kids to come together (many without having met before) and work together so well in a mixed aged team.

If you’d like to be involved in the Challenge for next year in May, contact Sue at editor (at) home-ed-vic-edu.au or ph 54395134.

No cost involved. Own transport to Deakin required.
