Monday 13th September 2010
9:30am      One hour general tour of the Old Melbourne Gaol
11am         One hour courtroom drama (children re-enact the Ned Kelly trial)
1pm           30 minutes Watchhouse experience
This experience is aimed at children 12plus (years 7-10). The children are assigned roles to play in the courtroom drama experience.  They will know their role before the excursion and be given notes about their character.  The courtroom drama incorporates the use of multimedia equipment also.  Children must be aged twelve and over as the watchhouse tour can be very confronting.  The children undergo the experience of being arrested and held at the watchhouse. The excursion is very useful for reinforcing the history of Ned Kelly (hero or villain?) and particularly helpful for those children with an interest in legal studies and/or history.
The cost is $17.50 per child
Adults may accompany their child/ren but must pay the adult admitting price of $25 ($21 concession)
For every 6 children one adult is admitted free (Booking is for 15 kids so hopefully two adults will be free)
Please let me know if you have a particular financial issue regarding adult payment or if booking for more than one child so I can pass the free admittance on to you.
Please email bookings/interest to Amanda at theexcursionfactor@gmail.com
Include names of all children and adults attending plus ages.  Note if your child is happy to play a role in the courtroom drama and if they would like a major or minor speaking part.  This will be a fun experience.
