GRAMPIANS CAMP Thursday 29th November to Tuesday 4th December
The Grampians Camp is on again this year at the same location – the Grampians Gardens Tourist Park in Halls Gap. www.grampiansgardens.com.au
There are plenty of powered and unpowered camping sites $25 to $30 per night.
There are a limited number of cabins available ranging from $75 to $130 per night.
Please book accommodation directly with Desleigh on 5356 4244 or ua.moc.snedragsnaipmargnull@ofni and mention that you are with the Home Education group. DO NOT BOOK THROUGH THEIR WEBSITE as you will not get the home ed discount.
Please send me an email to let me know that you’re coming to the camp, once you book with Desleigh.
Abseiling, rockclimbing, high ropes and canoeing can be booked > directly with Absolute Outdoors 5356 4556. We had a lot of people book and not attend last year, so they are taking bookings direct and you need to pay for the activity at the time that you book it. There
is a limit on numbers for each of these activities. The cost is $50 per person per activity.
Friday 30 November 1.30pm High Ropes
Saturday 1 December 9am or 1.30pm Beginner’s Abseiling and Rockclimbing
Sunday 2 December 9am Advanced Abseiling
1.30pm Canoeing
I am in the process of organising Mini Golf for Friday morning and the Halls Gap Zoo, including the educational talk, for Monday morning.
We were mucked around a bit by Bambruk Aboriginal Cultural Centre last year so I wasn’t going to re-book with them this year, however, if there is a strong interest in the activities there, I will book again.
Families are asked to please comply with the Home Education Network code of conduct for camps
Please contact me at moc.liamgnull@9cmeiluj to let me know if you have booked accommodation and also with any general enquiries. I will be taking bookings for Mini Golf and the Zoo once prices etc. are confirmed.
update: 3 July
Most cabins are now booked, so please be quick if you need a cabin to attend the camp. There are plenty of campsites available. There are limited places for the Absolute Outdoor activities so please book early if you want a place. We can accommodate up to 40 for the zoo, but last year we had approximately 70 book and there were two groups. This year there is only one group. However, if the zoo groups is booked out you can still visit the zoo on your own (although you will not get the reptile encounter).
