What: Bugs in 3D
Bugs will magnify the miniscule world of insects and explore the miracle of their success. From metamorphosis to mastery, predator to prey and community to concealment, extraordinary large-format 3D images will bring audiences face-to-face with this amazing universe of creatures.

Melbourne Museum – Amazing Bugs

[ 20 November 2009; 10:30 am; ] Program led by museum staff

This 30 minute show is recommended as an introduction for classes visiting the Bugs Alive! exhibition.

Children will learn about the characteristics of insects and other bugs, including their diverse life-cycles, purpose built mouthparts and ‘warning colours’.

Science Works – ‘Cool Stuff’

[ 10 December 2009; 11:00 am; ] Science show at 11am

This 30-minute science show uses some ‘very cool’ liquid nitrogen demonstrations to illustrate the properties of solids, liquids and gases. Changes of state, expansion and contraction are all demonstrated using lots of fog, froth and fun.

Cost: $4 per child, $8 per adult
